Meet Evan


Evan Shoemaker joined the firm as an associate in 2022. He received his J.D. from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2017. Evan practices primarily in the fields of Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration.
Evan’s Estate Planning practice includes the preparation of Last Will and Testaments, Durable Power of Attorney documents, Advanced Directives, Beneficiary Deeds, and an array of Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts depending on the client’s needs. Evan provides advice to clients seeking assistance in avoiding probate those making provisions for family members with disabilities.
Evan also assists individuals and companies serving as Trustee, Guardian, Conservator, Executor, or Personal Representative as well as those who seek appointment by a Court to those roles on behalf of loved ones. This includes Fiduciaries who may need representation in contested legal matters or ongoing litigation. Evan has additional experience assisting clients in general business matters including entity formation, real estate contracts and leases, name changes, and elder law matters.
In his personal time, Evan helps organize and participates in the CUP Ultimate Frisbee leagues, plays the bass guitar at First Baptist Church, and enjoys playing board games with friends. Evan has resided in Columbia since 2011.
